Ward Boundary Review
On November 23rd, 2020, Council approved the decision to conduct a Ward Boundary Review to review the Township's existing ward boundaries, and develop options for the reconfiguration of ward boundaries.
The object of the Review is to ensure that Ramara’s ward boundaries continue to provide a system of effective and equitable representation for all residents.
The Review will provide options that accommodate projected growth through the 2022, 2026, and 2030 municipal elections and be guided by the overarching principle of “effective representation” as set out by the Supreme Court of Canada.
In January, we conducted the first round of consultation to get public feedback on the effectiveness of current boundaries and the factors that are most important to designing new ward boundaries.
The ongoing second round of consultation asks residents for their comments and feedback on how the following six draft boundary maps would or would not deliver "effective representation." Click on the images below to view the preliminary options.
